Born in 1963, Whitney Houston grew up in an intensely musical family. Dionne Warwick was her aunt, and Aretha Franklin and Chaka Khan were close family friends. <\/strong><\/h3>

In the 1980s Whitney\u2019s star rapidly rose to great fame. Songs like \u201cI will always love you<\/em>,\u201d \u201cThe greatest love of all<\/em>\u201d and \u201cI wanna dance with somebody<\/em>\u201d became classics. Her debut album was the best-selling female debut album of all time, while her second album was number 1 for 25 weeks. <\/strong><\/h3>

Her marriage in 1992 to \u201cbad boy\u201d Bobby Brown, with whom she had her only child, Bobbi Kristina, was tumultuous from the start. During this time Whitney\u2019s drug use became not only apparent, but it also started to adversely affect her voice and career. After a failed come back attempt, she died face down in a bathtub in 2012 from a cocaine overdose at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. She was 48 years old. <\/strong><\/h3>
